A woman in North Carolina gave birth to twins in two years this weekend — the first arrived at 11:58 p.m. on New Year's Eve 2010, and the second was born at the stroke of midnight New Year's Day 2011.

That's nothing. A woman in Poland recently gave birth to twins fathered by two different men. A DNA test proved it.

Forty "youths" engaged in a snowball fight in Berlin ended up being pepper sprayed by two policemen who had ordered them to disband. When told to stop the fight, the young people pelted the officers, who reacted with gas. Reinforcements were called. There were "many" arrests, but no injuries.

A San Pablo, California man who was released from a hospital after a psychiatric evaluation stole a taxi and attempted to register it at a department of motor vehicles office.

A man in Seattle who stole a 50-inch TV from the back of a delivery van by putting it into a nearby shopping cart, was arrested when he unknowingly — yep, you got it — wheeled it past a police station.

In an effort to crack down on widespread tax evasion, Romania last week officially recognized witchcraft as a profession. There must be a lot of witches in Romania.

A British sea captain who was jailed for eight months for drunkenly steering his ship into an historic pier in Southampton, and causing nearly £400,000 damage, died this week by drowning in a pond. Police believe the captain visited several pubs earlier in the night and stumbled.
