The Roslyn House in Old Westbury, Nassau County, Long Island
On a smaller scale, this house is strikingly similar to the one I grew up in. It was built in 1891 for Stanley Mortimer, Sr., a successful New York stockbroker. Mortimer's wife Kathleen was the daughter of Henry Morgan Tilford, founder of the Standard Oil Company of California. Old Westbury stands for old money (think Vanderbilts) and is the wealthiest suburb in the U.S. The house was demolished in the 1970s for development. Mortimer descendants still create headlines in New York society.

Your house was built in 1917 by Harry Kissel who went on to develop a lot of the Ridgewood neighborhood & also was instrumental in creating the modern home loan.
Prolly pals with your grandpa at the men's club across the street from the old Warder Public Library.
